The Sierra de Cazorla, a privileged environment for olive growing
The Aceites Cazorla Cooperative is located in the foothills of the Sierras de Cazorla, Segura y las Villas Natural Park, declared a Biosphere Reserve in 1983 by UNESCO.
The Comarca de Cazorla is a production area covered by the DO Sierra de Cazorla, whose terms are comprised between the municipalities of: Cazorla, Chilluévar, Hinojares, Huesa, La Iruela, Peal de Becerro, Pozo Alcón, Quesada and Santo Tomé.
Its privileged geographical location next to the Sierra de Cazorla, makes it possible to create an ideal microclimate for the cultivation of olive trees. Where they coexist in complete harmony, with a strong presence of aromatic plants that distinguish our oils from the rest of Jaén’s geography.
In an incomparable environment full of environmental conditions and natural resources, an extensive municipal area opens up, where the aggressiveness of the terrain allows the majestic Sierra de Cazorla to coexist with the traditional mountain olive grove.
Also, we can find centenary olive trees that comb the land and are mixed with plants such as rosemary, lavender and thyme giving it a personality of its own.
